Switching from Shimano Curado to Bentrod - why?
I have curado DC....you know what they cost. I typically manage around 10 rods and needed quick adjustment features...kastking provides it in a reel with less dollars invested. Would like to see MegaJaws Elite for that 6.2: 1, that would complete line up for use of crankbaits....plus, make the spool a bit wider and deeper to hold more line and men with larger thumbs.
Only problem I had was that I dropped it and scuffed it up. I love it and I would order another one.
Megajaws is taking the place of my old Shimano Castaic reels which I cannot purchase anymore. The flipping switch is awesome for my style of fishing

Nice easy to use baitcaster
Out of the box this baitcaster is nice and. I got it spooled up and did the initial adjustments then did the first throw and no birdsnest. Super easy to use. Don't get me wrong you can get it to birds nest like any other baitcaster but generally it only happens when I have a miss-cast. I prefer this over my costlier baitcaster. It is easy to adjust and has some pretty solid drag.

Been waiting on this reel. Finally arrived with and I immediately spooled it up with some 17lb flouro and took it out to play with a couple days in a row. I admit to trying to "test" the braking system far more than I would under normal circumstances. First cast, I bombed it as far as I could. Cast was much farther and much smoother than expected. Great distance. Wanted to test the new breaking system, so I didn't bother to feather the spool at all. No problem at all. Tried it with some lighter baits as well. Works great. Not flawless, but much better than I had hoped for. I almost never run straight flouro as the memory can be problematic. I did with this reel because I wanted to test it. The only time I really had an issue is when the line wasn't spooled tightly. But that's more a me issue than the reel. Worked fine with tight spools. Looking forward to spending more time with this reel, particularly for pitching and flipping. Would recommend.
