Tiny But Mighty
I got the 7ft.2 medium light with the high speed reel..2nd day of fishing with it hooked a massive grass carp and fought that thing for nearly 30 minutes...reel worked like a charm and had the rod maxed out and it handled it like a charm...bentrod baby💪
Amazing BFS combo
This is my first time fishing with a true bfs setup and man was I so pleased. I put 4lb mono and the reel and was easily casting +50 yards with 1/8 - 1/16oz lures. I landed some nice shoal bass and even a slab of a black crappie. This was my first Kastking product and I was hoping for it to be amazing because I kept thinking of making the switch and this combo has really solidified that for me. Thank you kastking you now have a loyal and valuable customer!
My FIRST BFS combo!
This thing is super light and very easy to cast and carry. Finesse enough for little lures and enough backbone for 1/8th oz spinnerbaits. This is going to be fun to catch creek and river smallmouth bass on!
So far so good
I've only been able to get out two times so far with my new BFS combo and it has been really good. The rod is sensitive and the reel is smooth. I have ultra light rod and it is strong as well, the second fish I caught was a 25lb. carp. No, I wasn't trying to catch a carp but the rod and reel handled it. This is my first bentrod and I believe it is going to suit me well.
Favorite Combo
Having a blast with the ultra combo catching everything from Bass, Bluegill, to Pike. Can’t go wrong and will be a memorable catch every time you hook one.
Kestrel BFS Combo
Love the combo so far! It is my intro into BFS and it’s been great. The quality on the rod and reel seem solid and it’s become my go-to on every trip.
Great reel!
I’ve used it for about a week and if you’ve never used a bait caster there’s definitely a learning curve but the reel makes it really easy to figure out! Super sensitive but not too floppy to the point where you can’t set the hook, caught a few bass and some little sunfish!! Great purchase and will be searching for some more bait casters soon!!

Great rod and reel
Great rod and reel. It cast super smooth. I run 6lb mono and haven't backlashed one time. You do have to set the weight when changing lures but that doesn't take no time. I've caught everything from tiny bluegill to some pretty big bass! It has held up wonderfully. I even use it for heavier stuff like topwater frogs on straight 6lb mono and haven't had any issues at all bringing in the big ones! Lol...If your second guessing on buying it, do yourself a favor and just get it. You won't regret it. I'm pretty hard on rod and reels and this thing is tough!
Great BFS rod for the price
I had my reservations about the quality of the reels and rods offered by bentrod but heard good things so I decided to roll the dice. I was not disappointed! Reel casts light BFS lures a long distance with easy and I have had 0 backlash issues. The rod is light and sensitive. I am very happy with my Kestrel BFS rod and reel!
