Weighing just 4.5 ounces ultra-light baitcasting reel features a shallow feather spool that weighs only 0.18 ounces, delivering extremely low startup inertia. The lightweight spool accelerates quickly, enabling confident casting of finesse lures down to just 1/32 ounces. A compact 37.5mm Palm Perfect profile, combined with a Neutron C long-fiber star drag, provides all-day comfort, precise finesse control, and smooth drag adjustment.
High-Strength Sycron Construction
The Kestrel SE Baitcasting Reel combines a feather-light design with rock-solid rigidity. Critical load-bearing components, including the frame and side covers, are reinforced with Sycron material to minimize flex and frame distortion under heavy load. Compared to graphite material, it delivers 40% higher impact resistance, 28% higher tensile strength, and 12% higher compressive strength, while remaining 15% lighter for improved balance and all-day comfort.
Finesse-Driven Braking System
The FAF (Flyout Arc Finesse) Braking system was designed specifically for finesse fishing. Two half-ring magnetic brakes automatically adjust to slow down the spool when braking is needed to prevent backlashes. As the speed of the spool decreases, the magnetic field inside the spool diminishes and the magnets retract to maximize casting distance. There is also an external fingertip brake adjustment dial for fine tuning spool speeds for smaller baits.
Smooth and Fast Precision
Equipped with 7+1 MaxiDur double-shielded stainless steel ball bearings, this reel delivers a smooth and consistent retrieve. A 7.5:1 gear ratio pairs with a precision-cut AT6 super-hard aluminum main gear and a manganese brass pinion gear to provide fast line pickup, durability, and reliable performance.
Impressive Power and Castability
The patented LFTV (Low Friction Tapered Vortex) line guide reduces the angle at which the line enters the guide, minimizing friction during casts. Reduced friction and a straighter line path help deliver longer casts with fewer backlashes. Up to 13.2 lbs of smooth drag provides solid fish-stopping power, while the audible drag clicker offers clear feedback during the fight.

I fell in love with this reel from the first cast. I only had it for a month because I unfortunately left it at a boat ramp loading the truck back up. It quickly became my favorite out of the reels that I have. It was a very sad day losing it. It's a whole combo that I would highly recommend to everyone I know.
